High-Quality Disc Blades at Affordable Prices

 What Are Disc Blades?

Disc blades are a row of concave metal discs that are a part of disc harrow, an agricultural instrument whose cutting edges may be scalloped and set at an oblique angle. This farming implement is used for the tilling of the soil to plant crops. It is an efficient way to till the soil on a large lot and remove unwanted weeds or remaining crop parts.

Different Types of Disc Harrows

 Modern Simba Disc Harrow

It comprises numerous carbon steel disc blades or boron disc blades that last longer. They have differing concavities, disc blade sizes and, spacing in between the discs. If these discs are arranged into two sections, it is known as offset disc harrow, or if the discs are divided into four sections, then it is known as tandem disc harrow.

Single-Action Disc Harrow

This type of disc harrows possesses disc gangs that facilitate the disc blades to break the soil in only one direction. They are mostly used in smaller lots with a harrow cutting width range from 4 feet to 20 feet. Their cuts create soil ridges and furrows due to the uniform operation of discs.

 Double-Action Disc Harrow

It is a superior leveling instrument with two or more rows of disc gangs and hence the name double-action disc harrows. They are also known as tandem disc harrow. The front gangs serve to break the soil in one direction, whereas the rear gangs break the soil in the opposite direction, resulting in a very fine and homogenous cut.

Offset Disc Harrow

The disc gangs in this type of harrows are not in line with the tractor dragging it. This harrow also has two rows of disc gangs with disc blades attached to it, which break the soil opposite each other. They are usually the largest type of disc harrow and the most effective one to produce a smoother level to the ground.

Choosing the Appropriate Disc Blades

While purchasing disc blades, several factors have to be examined. The disc blades should be tough and be able to resist corrosion. Care should be taken to check its precise manufacturing and robust structure. They should contribute to reducing the tractor power consumption as well. Disc blades made from hardened steel should be preferred as they have many advantages and are built to last.
